Day-by-Day Adventure Itinerary
Arrival in Niamey, transfer to hotel. Free time for individual visits. Meals not included. Overnight accommodation and breakfast.

After a very early breakfast, transfer to Tahoua. Our transfer by road, with stops in Haussa villages with their earthen houses and millet granaries. We cross the Ader area, known for its commercial practices in connection with neighboring Niger. before Yamaa, Hausa village with Sudanese style architecture. Here, several small imposing mosques that mark the village have been awarded the prize: Agha Khan. Lunch will be in the form of a picnic. Accommodation in annex dépendance Just room and diner and breakfast in restaurant 2 minutes by car.

Across the Sahelian zone, at the beginning of the region inhabited by nomadic herders such as the Fulani, we cross the most arid area to reach Abalak, the largest town where we can refresh ourselves. Attend the Cure Salée, an annual gathering of herders between Abalak and Agadez. This traditional official state meeting is a time for exchanges. But above all, it is a source of pride to come together at this great gathering to prove one's identity: traditions, cultures, and peace. We will be in Ingall to set up camp and attend the event the following day.

Early morning, the official morning of the opening ceremony. Cure Salée is an official gathering to launch the message of the end of the good harvest and grazing for cattle. It's an ideal moment of encounter between the authorities and the nomadic world. Official opening by local authorities and government, followed by ceremonies featuring Tuareg and Fulani cultural activities. Podium: set up for ceremonies and exhibitions of regional products. Several beauty contests for the most beautiful camel and camel races with prize-giving. It's a time of festivities and folklore for Tuaregs and Peulhs. Mornings and evenings are very busy for photo enthusiasts. Overnight in tents with our cook, who will take care of the meals. Sunday afternoon, we'll be in Agadez for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Agadez, Saharan city par excellence, Tuareg outpost. Visit the old town with its shopping and narrow streets. Listed as a unesco heritage site. Visit the outlying hamlets of Agadez, meet Tuareg families - markets - sultanate - the great mosque and, if the opportunity arises, a traditional dance ceremony with a Tuareg family to give a taste of the culture. 2 nights at hotel on half-board basis.

We leave Agadez to return to the Foudouk camp, a place known for gatherings of the Fulani community. We set up camp to celebrate the rites of the Guerewools, ancestral traditions involving makeup, seduction, and reunions. We spend one night there, and the next day, after the first few hours of ceremonies, we leave our Fulani friends and head for Tahoua. Transfer to Tahoua, via the Tablak pond and several Tuareg nomad camps. Stops along the way for visits or encounters with nomads who continue to migrate with their herds from north to south. Overnight stay at the Tarka Hotel in Tahoua with half board.

We leave very early in the morning, aiming to arrive at Dogon Doutchi by noon, where we will have the chance to watch a traditional Hausa performance, the Bori dance. Despite the spread of Islam, this part of Niger has kept its traditions alive by referring to the spirit of djiin. Sacrifices and invocations to spiritual beings are similar to voodoo in Benin. It's a sign of protection and homage to the ancestors who are the guardians of this heritage. Niamey is 230 km away and we expect to arrive late in the evening, transfer to the hotel. Shower room or overnight room depending on the flight schedule. End and stop - airport transfer.
