During the festival, thousands of devotees fast and gather at temples or ashrams, lighting rows of oil lamps and offering prayers in the evening. The ritual symbolizes purification, protection from illness, and spiritual devotion.
Overnight stay in Dhaka.
Morning:
We’ll have an early breakfast. First, we’ll visit Kawran Bazar, the largest marketplace in the city. Then we’ll go to Amin Bazar (Gabtoli), where people load and unload bricks, sand, and coal from ships. We will also visit a nearby brick factory.
Afternoon:
Drive back toward the hotel and stop at a slum located beside a railway track.

Return to the hotel after dinner. Overnight stay in Dhaka.

Midday:
Cross the river and visit the famous Shipyard of Dhaka. This bustling shipyard specializes in the construction, repair, and dismantling of various vessels, including ferries, cargo ships, and fishing boats. It employs thousands of skilled workers, with activities such as welding, hammering, and metal cutting taking place in open-air conditions.

Travel to Barisal by modern ferry. Overnight stay in a first-class air-conditioned cabin.
Early Morning:
Travel to Banaripara to enjoy a small boat ride through narrow canals and visit local villages. Visit several floating markets by boat, where vendors come to sell fruits and vegetables. Every day, the bazaar takes place in a specific location.
Afternoon:
After lunch, visit rice paddy fields, betel leaf gardens, and other nearby villages.
Evening:
Return to Barisal and board the modern ferry back to Dhaka. Dinner and overnight stay in a first-class ship cabin.
Day:
After breakfast, drive to Banti Batik village to observe the process of dyeing and coloring batiks. It’s a unique method used for fabrics. As far as the eye can see, it's a splash of vibrant colors everywhere. Villagers are meticulously putting out crafted batik fabrics to dry.
The artistry of designing grey cloths with various colors has given the once-unemployed people of Banti — a bastion of batik — a new lease on life. The intrinsic batik art depicts colors of joy and happiness, but does it tell how the life of artisans actually is? What does it take to make batiks? The amount of dedication and hard work behind the scenes of their artistic work is often unheard of.
After the Batik weaving village, we’ll drive to Srimangal. On the way, visit an Ashuganj rice factory.
Overnight in Srimangal.
Morning:
In the morning, we will drive to Madhabpur Dam, surrounded by small hills, and enjoy the scenic view away from the noise. We will also visit beautiful tea garden plantations.
Afterwards, we will drive to the Manipuri tribal area to attend the Raas Festival and its preparations.
Note:
Raas Festival dates have not yet been established for 2026. However, based on previous years, it is expected that one of the three festival days will fall on this date. If not, other activities will be arranged.

Day:
Visit the ancient capital Sonargaon — a historic administrative, commercial, and maritime center of Bengal during the pre-Muslim, Muslim, and British periods. We’ll board a wooden boat and stop at island villages and bazaars to experience the real lifestyle.
Visit the remains of the old capital: abandoned Panam City. Established in the late 13th century, it flourished in the 19th century as a vibrant hub for Hindu cotton merchants during British colonial rule. Panam Nagar was abandoned after the partition of India in 1947 and subsequent communal riots, leading to the migration of its Hindu inhabitants to India. Today, it stands as a protected archaeological site.
